Installation

Download MoltenVR, install the MoltenVR headset app on your Quest or PICO, pair once, and launch your first PC VR game from the headset.

Getting set up takes a few minutes: install the Mac app, put the MoltenVR headset app on your headset, pair them once, and launch a game. MoltenVR is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other Mac app, and it keeps itself up to date.

Download MoltenVR

Go to the MoltenVR releases on GitHub and download the latest MoltenVR zip.

Install the app

Unzip it, drag MoltenVR.app into /Applications, and open it. Your 7-day Pro trial starts here.

Install the headset app

Plug your Quest or PICO into the Mac with a USB-C cable, then go to Settings → Headsets → Install on headset in MoltenVR.

Pair once

Open the MoltenVR app on the headset. It finds your Mac over USB, Bonjour or the local network. Pair once using the PIN shown on the Mac, and that's it.

Pick your stream settings

Press Find best settings in MoltenVR. It tests your Mac and connection, then picks resolution, refresh rate and codec for you.

Play

Browse your library in the headset and launch a game. When it quits you land back in the library, so you never need to take the headset off. For Windows games, MoltenVR downloads and sets up its own Wine; see Wine & Graphics Engines.
