VR Shell & Desktop View
Use your Mac desktop, windows and MoltenVR's panels inside the headset, with a VR keyboard, and see which macOS permissions that needs.The VR shell brings your Mac into the headset: your desktop, your windows and MoltenVR's own panels, with a VR keyboard for typing. It's handy for checking a message or changing a setting without taking the headset off.
Permissions
MoltenVR's core features run without Screen Recording or Accessibility permission on macOS 14.4 and later. The Mac desktop view is the exception: it needs to see your screen, so macOS asks for those permissions the first time you open it.
If you dismissed the prompt, grant it by hand:
Open System Settings
Click the Apple menu and choose System Settings.
Go to Privacy & Security
In the sidebar, click Privacy & Security.
Allow MoltenVR
Open Screen Recording (called Screen & System Audio Recording on newer macOS), and Accessibility if asked, then turn MoltenVR on. If it isn't listed, open the desktop view in VR once and macOS adds it.

MoltenVRKit is an SDK that lets other Mac apps add their own panels to the VR shell. It's coming to developers.
